On this website, you will find info the international symposium “Mobile Music in the Making 2017” (#MMM2017).
The symposium takes place between 10th and 11th March 2017 at the Berlin University of the Arts and is organized by the Research Center for Mobile Music Making & App Music (RCAM). A 2-day conference on music making with mobile music apps including sessions, talks, discussions and a keynote, a BarCamp, an openLINKjam and a performance.
What will music making look like in the future? How will people be related to instruments that allow ubiquitous music making? How will society be influenced by music technologies that blur boundaries between musicians and the audience? And what consequences derive from the technological development for pedagogical contexts? Answers to all these questions will be proposed on the »Mobile Music in the Making 2017«.
The goal of the conference is to establish an intensive and interdisciplinary discussion about the relation of music, education and technology. Our vision is to create a place for deep discussions, finding new collaborations and getting in touch with new players. A creative space for musicians, educators, sound artists, music technologists, scientists, developers and representatives of authorities, foundations and associations exploring inspiration and creativity for their work in the field of music and mobile apps.
The #MMM2017 is for those who are seeking an interactive exchange with others with regard to new musical forms, new apps, new hardware technology and innovative, expressive methods of sound making, performance and collaboration, musical and cultural education and much more. Interested parties of all disciplines are encouraged to participate; diverse and varied backgrounds often bring valuable eclectic elements into the collaborative mix.
The context of the international symposium #MMM2017 is a joint project (Touch:Music) of the Research Center for Mobile Music Making & App Music (RCAM) at the Berlin University of the Arts with the Federal Academy Wolfenbüttel. In this they developed a training for musicians regarding music with apps in the cultural education project which is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
